The prayerful generous Christian should avoid giving on impulse. As we believe that every money decision is a spiritual decision, we, therefore, need to seek God’s wisdom, especially in giving opportunities. God’s role is key to His faithful cycle of provisions in our life. Remember that generosity doesn’t only benefit the object of your generosity… but largely, and in God’s eyes… it benefits you!
In prayer, ask God:
- Why do you need to give (the purpose)
- Who do you give it to (the object of our giving)
- What is God’s goal for you, what is He teaching you
