“Faith is essential in your success. Faith is needed in almost every area of our lives: work, projects,  and small business endeavors,” – Alex Cook

This verse talks to everyone to persevere, “A faithful person will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished.” Proverbs 28:20

No one gets rich overnight. Success is a byproduct if you persevere with patience. It’s been said one too many times, “Good things come to those who wait”—true enough, countless stories of success are anchored on the simple principles of hard work and patience.

Take your time, don’t rush things, we’ve always been told. Whether it’s as simple as a science project, landing a new job, getting that long-awaited promotion, or closing a million dollar business deal, patiently waiting for the right time will spell the difference between success and failure.

The road to success will be marked by trials and difficulties, and only the one who is faithful to keep persevering while seeking to honor God will finish the course triumphantly. So, take your time, persevere, don’t rush!

One of American history’s richest men John D. Rockefeller once said, “I do not think that there is any other quality so essential to success of any kind as the quality of perseverance.”  Rockefeller is the world’s very first billionaire. During his time in 1916, his oil interests had a monopoly of America’s entire oil industry with a 90% share.

Rockefeller, who was brought up to persevere with Christian values, believed that, “it is a religious duty to get all the money you can, fairly and honestly; to keep all you can, and to give away all you can.” He didn’t amass all his wealth and success overnight, it was a product of his perseverance.

Though to this day, Rockefeller is arguably the richest man in history, he insisted that “If your only goal is to become rich, you will never achieve it.”

God commands His children to stay persevere faithfully and holy as they walk this earth. While we desire to lead a successful life, never forget that success comes from God in His appointed time. Our role is to work diligently with our hands, be truthful and honest in all our business transactions, be patient in perseverance, and at the end of the day leave the results to God and allow Him to bless the works of our hands in His perfect time.

Below are a few Bible verses to ponder upon:

“Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.” 1Timothy 6:9

“Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness.” Proverbs 23:4

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24

“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.” Psalm 37:7

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Ecclesiastes 3:11
