2020-21 is the most difficult period of our lives. We saw, 20/20, how life can instantly change! It was a nightmare, really, and I think it isn’t over.  However, we have also seen, 20/20, the best of humanity too. Communities mobilized and responded to the needy. Generosity during lockdowns were executed just when people needed it the most, where people needed it the most, how people needed it the most. It literally extended lives. 

The Power of Generosity

God’s promise to the generous is prosperity, and it comes in many forms.

In Proverbs 11: 24-25 “One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”. 

I think He is already doing it, He is literally directing heaven’s resources to rain down on the generous. It will come and refresh those who generously helped the tired and anxious. Just when we thought we have radically given all we can, God steps in, fills us and overflows to the brim. The more we give, the more He gives. It’s a cycle of generosity bound for the generous.

“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” – Luke 6:38

Your Role Is Significant

Have you been generous to those in need? What’s holding you back? Where’s the struggle? If you believe God keeps His promises, you know the powerful, massive returns He plans WHEN you start giving. The amount you give, small or big, is acceptable. Nothing is too small to share to someone who needs it.

The early Christians, in Acts 2:42-47, shared what they can, to one another. And as a result, no one was in need. Everyone praised God, honored God. And the Lord added to their numbers, day by day, the souls of those who were being saved.

No one was in need. And ultimately, people were being saved!
This is the true power of generosity.
