As Christian businessmen, we are called to be more than just successful entrepreneurs. We are called to be ambassadors for Christ in the marketplace, demonstrating His love and wisdom in all that we do. This means doing business supernaturally with integrity, excellence, and a deep reliance on God. It means doing business supernaturally, partnering with God in every aspect of our work.
Recognizing God as Your CEO
The first step to doing business supernaturally is recognizing God as your CEO. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” This means surrendering your business plans, strategies, and decisions to Him, seeking His guidance and wisdom in all things. When you acknowledge God’s sovereignty over your business, you invite Him to work in and through you, leading you to success that glorifies Him.
Seeking God’s Vision for Your Business
Once you’ve acknowledged God as your CEO, it’s essential to seek His vision for your business. Habakkuk 2:2-3 says, “Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” This means taking time to pray and listen to God’s voice, asking Him to reveal His plans and purposes for your company. What is He calling you to build? What impact is He calling you to make in the marketplace? When you align your business with God’s vision, you are doing business supernaturally because you are tapping into His supernatural power and provision.
Operating with Integrity and Excellence
Doing business supernaturally also means operating with integrity and excellence in all your dealings. Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” This means being honest and ethical in all your business practices, treating your employees and customers with respect, and striving for excellence in your products and services. When you operate with integrity and excellence, you reflect God’s character in the marketplace and attract His favor on your business.
Praying for Your Business and Employees
Prayer is a powerful tool for doing business supernaturally. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 encourages us to pray for all people, including those in authority. This includes praying for your business, your employees, your customers, and your competitors. Pray for God’s guidance, protection, and provision. Pray for wisdom in decision-making, for favor with clients and partners, and for opportunities to share your faith in the marketplace. When you make prayer a priority in your business, you invite God’s supernatural intervention and experience His peace and power in your work.
Stepping Out in Faith and Doing Business Supernaturally
Doing business supernaturally often requires stepping out in faith and taking risks. Hebrews 11:6 tells us, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” This could mean launching a new product, expanding into a new market, or hiring new employees. When you step out in faith, trusting in God’s provision and guidance, you demonstrate your dependence on Him and open the door for Him to do extraordinary things in your business.
Sharing Your Faith in the Marketplace
Finally, doing business supernaturally means sharing your faith in the marketplace. Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” This could involve being open about your faith with your employees and customers, incorporating biblical principles into your business practices, or supporting Christian charities and ministries. When you share your faith in the marketplace, you become a witness for Christ and demonstrate the transformative power of the Gospel.
Doing business supernaturally is about partnering with God in every aspect of your work. It’s about recognizing Him as your CEO, seeking His vision, operating with integrity and excellence, praying for your business, stepping out in faith, and sharing your faith in the marketplace. When you do business God’s way, you not only experience success in the marketplace but also make an eternal impact for His kingdom.
